Case study / 03 — Company operations

Make every handoff
make sense.

I'm working on physical production workflows and the digital tools around them—connecting order intake, planning, staging, operator execution, quality, and delivery.

Order-to-delivery
01 / The real-world constraint

The work happens across people, not screens.

An order moves through different roles and stations before a finished part reaches the client. Unclear handoffs create interruptions, rework, and questions about what is ready or next.

Ground floor

Clarity at the point of work

The operator needs the right instructions, references, settings, and next job without hunting through administrative systems.

Coordination

Confidence in readiness

Scheduling and staging need a reliable picture of what can be released and what requires attention.

02 / Physical workflow

One visible journey, from order to delivery.

The first workstream focuses on mapping and improving real movement through production. These steps summarize the proposed end-to-end model, not a completed rollout.

High-level workflow model; exact internal processes and customer data are intentionally excluded.
Underway

Physical workflow discovery

Observing how work and information move through production.

In progress

Handoff and staging design

Clarifying what makes a job ready, how it is assigned, and how exceptions are escalated.

Next

Pilot and iteration

Test a focused workflow, assess usability and refine before scaling.

03 / Interface design

Different jobs. Different interfaces.

The proposed mobile experience reflects the needs of two roles rather than duplicating a desktop database on smaller screens.

Operator

One job at a time

Large work instructions, settings, reference images, a clear completion action, and an easy way to flag a problem.

Administrator

Manage the queue

Scheduling, staging readiness, priority changes, assignments, and visibility across jobs.

These are design directions and prototypes—not a claim that these interfaces are already deployed at every station.
04 / Company intelligence

Make knowledge useful where work happens.

The longer-term intelligence concept would connect current procedures, job context, relevant history, and organizational decisions so authorized staff can retrieve reliable information. The existing business-system environment is a key integration constraint, and the overall intelligence OS has not been deployed company-wide.

Already started

Physical workflow improvement

Work has moved beyond ideation into investigation and process design.

Design and discovery

Mobile experiences and handoffs

Operator and administrative views are being refined against real operational needs.

Future workstream

Connected company intelligence

Reliable context retrieval, updates, permissions, and governance still require development and validation.

The bigger picture

Systems are only as good
as the work they improve.
